Dark Mirror

Contributed by darkgoddess on Monday, 19th December 2005 @ 01:22:42 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

I've looked into a mirror
And scared myself to death
My eyes are so cold and evil
It's hard to draw a breath
I know that my pain is deep
So deep down inside
That there is not a single soul
No where for me to hide
My friends all say they care and that they understand
But when I'm going through the valleys
I walk alone through this land
The days are darker than death
And take all of their time
And spend all their time crushing me
What is this evil crime?
But the truth will be known
I'll bet when I'm gone
Because the days are numbered
Just like a song
But until that day arrives
The mirror will be a sight
My eyes so cold, hollow
And dark as the darkest night
So when we meet one day
Don't sympathize over me
Because inside I've already died
So please just leave me be....
Leave me be....

a dark and meaningful poem. Truely it is annoying when people think that they know how you feel when they havent the faintest idea of the anger and the malic lurking deep inside.

A wonderful poem of identity. I've always seen a mirror as a perfect comparison to identity, as what you see in yourself when you look in a mirror is like looking into a window...and you yourself are a reflection to the world.

Thanks for sharing this!

No one can ever know your deepest thoughts and feelings. And that is why the poet loves paper so much, because with your pen you can tell all your problems to the paper, and then a deeper part of you understands what other cannot.
...anyway, I loved you piece. And welcome, to YPDC.
Take care.
David
