Demons of Night

Contributed by sride686 on Sunday, 18th December 2005 @ 09:54:22 PM in AEST
Topic: DreamsandWishes

Dreams are my glimpses of future and past
A breath of the present to bring back the past

Visions in night as they come from above
The future, the present is sent with love

I close my eyes as I lay awake
I think of my dreams for I know they await

Thoughts in the dark dose evil await
A nightmarish dream that will keep me awake

Dreams can be bright like a warm summer day
Or dark and cold as they turn your heart gray

Through a long endless night I awake in the dark
Fear in my heart as it rips me apart
Death in my site or was it the past
Is the future to come and will my life last

On silent nights is when evil waits
It creeps through your dreams like the reaper of fate
Killers dreams did they come from my heart
Did they rip out my soul and then tear it apart

Dreams are of love but were did they go
They left out of my life and they left me alone
My hate and my passion emotions once felt
But I’m left in surreal and alone I must dwell

Prayers of pain as they flow from my soul
I cry out in the night for my heart to be hole
Were is my warmth in which I once dwelt
Were is my love that once made me well

I reach for that love but its nowhere in site
I’m alone in my bed and alone for the night

Demons lurk and demons wait
To consume my heart and reveal my fate

~Steve~

Another well written write my love. I love seeing the changes in your writing...the word choice and the way your poems are always truthful and full of emotion. You ask in the poem..."Were is my warmth in which I once dwelt
Were is my love that once made me well

I reach for that love but its nowhere in site
I’m alone in my bed and alone for the night"

Dreams can be the deception of the heart, but they can also be the truth of how we are feeling. Your love awaits to hold you through the night my Steve so that your dreams may be sweet and your sleep may be peaceful again. I love you and your wonderful poetry.
Thanks for sharing it.
