Embracing Echoes

Contributed by Silent-No-More on Saturday, 17th December 2005 @ 12:38:34 PM in AEST
Topic: InspirationalPoems

"Never fear", now in retrospect,
Was only foolish make believe
Navigating through pure denial
A heart turned itself to leave
Its departure perhaps noticed,
Though not admitted by the blind
Yet, the doors closing in its wake
Echo forward still through time

In secret even from itself
The heart built another layer
To bury the hidden heartaches
That were always present there
But pain was never fully gone
For unwavering is its will
Irregardless of the protests
The echoes have lingered still

Fear-inducing in truth they are
And oh! this is no smallish thing
Fear is simply necessary
In the all of everything
Now looking back, opening doors
And slowly turning on the light
Ensures that one's not so naïve
To consider echoes trite

The memories of lessons learned,
As hard to bear as they have been,
Become like lifetime guarantees
That those doors won’t close again
For one cannot feign ignorance
Once they have moved beyond the dark
This, then, the value of one’s fears
As they echo through the heart

My goodness! This is wonderful. I can do little but murmur "amen!" between marvels at the quality of each and every line. This is outstanding, it truly is. One I shall come back to, I've no doubt.

This is a beautiful and thought provoking write, Snemmers. I love it. I believe fears can teach us courage as it seems to be reminiscent of here in my favorite lines:

"Fear is simply necessary
In the all of everything
".

A perfect write.

Thank you for sharing.

How very true....thoroughly enjoyed this poem.

A very impressive write. I love the title, and the way you used echoes....they seemed like the thread that tied the poem together. Fear is a great teacher, we can learn much from our fears. So often we view fear as our enemy, when, in facr, it is often our alley....esepecially when it comes to change.

Well done, SNM

Will

I see we are on a bit of the same page at the moment, huh? ; )

I feel this piece so very much, and your words spill straight from the heart. I love this write for that simple fact (Oh! And the other fact that it's just awesome....*wink*) Very well done Snembelina, and that title is quite clever, and well-suited.

( Relating all-too-well to the title at the mo' )
