Once on the right becomes left
Leaving a void where right did reside
Now on the other side
The view has changed tremendously
Upon what does the focus concentrate
A misty vision emerges from the cloud
A figure transparent,
Yet opaque enough to see
Is this a spirit from the other side
Walking, no floating, toward me
I feel tremulous and frightened inside
My thought, Oh my god, am I going to die
Is this the angel of death
Who has come to cross me over
Did I ever communicate with them;
The spirits who transcend the bridge of the abyss
In search of their specified selection
An empty space was left behind
As with the spirit I left, behind was to the right
No looking back now
As another dimension I am in
What lies before me, only the spirit knows
I stand in awe of what is facing me
And pray for forgiveness

Wonderful write. The truth does not use signs or symbols. Follow the truth, in your heart. Bless you and yours. Raquel Leah |

I'd say this is a fairly good first attempt at dark poetry. It's even better because it's based on a fear that is quite real for many (if not most), and you handled the subject rather well. Don't be afraid to write another 'dark' poem in the future: )
