The Interpretation Of Dreams

Contributed by Jyssvw on Thursday, 15th December 2005 @ 06:21:05 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

A simple man will tell you
that dreams are born in your head

A preacher may even convince you
God put them there instead

The psychologist who treats you
suggests that your repressions are dead

An eccentric artist who paints your dreams
in all shades of the color red

Some would argue
your environment implants genetic codes to be later encrypted

Unfulfilled fantasies of the day,
manifesting in a dream, fully completed

A chemical reaction, still unknown,
a divine production, built to specifications sublime

A dream slowly forms,
in the depths of the mind,
as an explosion of time rewinds

Rapid eye movement
the subconscious journey commences to transmit

A flyby image, so lucent and transparent,
if you could awake, you no doubt would feel it

Thus, craving dreams, in this paralyzed condition,
is habitual and highly addictive

Dreams that satisfy your inhibition,
all instinctual, the friction, no longer captive

Hopefully that 'paralyzed condition' is merely temporary...This isn't your first poem discussing dreams/sleep patterns. I know this is a topic that fascinates you, and it is a fun one to comtemplate. I wonder if we'll ever truly find out what causes them, and the proper interpretation, etc. Would be nice, wouldn't it?
Nice job with this write, and expressing your thoughts on the subject.

(Who is hoping to be dreaming in a few minutes!)
