The Silent Gift
It’s the day that you’d be older, turning 24
The day that you’d be walking right inside that door
We would all be there together, singing that silly song we sing.
But what makes it special to all of us, is not the gifts we bring,
It’s that unspoken love, the bond that we would share.
It would be that look in your eyes ~ to let us know ~ how you really cared
But the gifts that we exchanged was nothing we could hold
It was the warmth of love, the sea of strength, a treasure, just like gold
Since you’ve been gone we are not the same, our spirits need a lift
What helps us most in these trying times is your very special and silent gift.
