Tears streaming down a face that never cries
She sits on the floor
She wonders why?
Why God do you take the one’s I love?
Children drinking,
Smoking
None of them thinking
Of who else they hurt with the blade
Sits in her room
Looking through the pictures
The funerals’ soon.
Why couldn’t she prevent it.
Smashing the half empty glass
In which her friend peered through
Waiting for the time to pass
For wounds to heal
As he is lowered into the ground
She finds herself going with him
As tears fall without a sound
Down a face that never cries
