Seasons of Sorrow

Contributed by bobotheclown on Sunday, 11th December 2005 @ 05:39:01 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Trying to drink away this pain,
But being washed away like snow in the rain
I'm drowning in self-sympathy
And refusing to gaze into the eyes of reality

I am so cold inside
Persistence is all for naught
My heart begins to slowly rot
And my neck cracks with grief

Eloquence dies, as sorrow knocks
In my head doubt docks
I try to discard this flowering seed of pain,
But I wither under the shadow of my own disdain

Darkened rivers a testament to my loss of control
I'm dissolving in this dying world
As my life becomes unfurled,
But never again will I feel so hollow

Joel this is a deep, sad and heartbreaking write.Penned so brilliantly.Sadly I can feel ur pain and suffering. Chin up my dear friend you are not alone. You will always have a friend in me.

When life gets you down
And you feel lost and alone
Know that I'm here for you
To help make things atone

Life can get the better of you
It can really bring you down
Especially affairs of the heart
Can leaving you wearing a frown

So chin up dearest Joel
Let me dry your tears
I'll help to comfort you
Now that I'm always near

Don't despair my dear friend
I'm always here for you
I'll share your up's and down's
For you're a friend who's true

Chin up sweet guy. I'm here for you.
*heartfelt hugs for you*

Boy, have I been here...many moons ago now, but still freshly etched in my memory. You truly do have to hit rock bottom though, before you can start your long hike to the top, but when you get there, the view will be spectacular...I believe this is the first of your writes that I've read, so I can't say if this is your best. I can state that it is very soulful, honest, and raw, and that always makes a strong write in my opinion...Keep at it, and all the best.

Deep and sad, tortured even.
I have mixed feelings about the last line, it seems out of place in one way, yet seems to show a glimmer of hope at the same time.

Wow, Joel, ^_^. I think this is the first somewhat rhyming piece of poetic perfection I've read from you, :). But then again, you have many others that I have yet to read, (which I hope to get to soon enough, lol.) Well, as always, you have an incredibly emotional and picturesque masterpiece, and, as always, you impress me every time, ^__^. Your sorrow and anguish is vividly felt, and can be related to, my dear friend. The cold and calloused hands of self-struggling are never pleasant to the flesh... *Hugs you real tight* I hope things brighten up for you, honey. I know how hard it is to keep a somewhat positive view on things when you're so far down in darkness. Well, you know you have many to turn to when in need of solace, ad you have your writing, in which you do impeccably well, ^_^. Always here for ya, darlin'. Lots of love and smiles. Forever your friend/fan,

~*Stephy*~ *hugs*
