The Bell Shaped Curve

Contributed by Mangos on Sunday, 11th December 2005 @ 04:14:04 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

There are things that fall to either end of the extreme

Within a gap of reason, one can determine its significance

Its applicability in an organized functional relationship

Where the capacity to engage in abstract thinking

Novel, situational, concept formation, and concrete reasoning

Abilities that are judged as a standard of behavior and emotions

Are shunned by analysis of a coherent pattern of evolution

-Mediocrity killed the cat-

The average, or the mean above is concerned

A standard deviation from the point of no return

Obsessively, over time, the point retracts to the center

It suggests a result of misconstrued nomenclature

The effect of years on the generational collapse

As the higher and lower seem to extenuate their gaps

In order to abbreviate and shorten the space needed to catch up

This reminds me of school, but in a good way. It makes me think of some of the (few) things I learned, that actually interested me...i.e: some parts of science and psych that I found intriguing, and cause and effect, and all that good stuff. Not sure if that makes sense in comparision to your write, or even how it'll come across when you read this, but it's meant as a compliment. Your poetry often leads to profound thinking, as much as it is often based on the same, as well...Nicely done.

-Mediocrity killed the cat-

I love that. If it didn't kill him entirely... at a minimum it blinded him, numbed him, defeaned him. Poor cat... somewhere under all that fur, he's probably meowing his butt off --- or worse (to your point, I think), not.

I agree with Scorpie here... thought provoking, this is.

Lots of big words lol. I can tell its a good write tho. A little above my league, but still. I can tell a lot of thought went into it. So great job :D
