Where are you, Mom?

Contributed by Lin54 on Friday, 9th December 2005 @ 06:09:37 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Mom - Oh Mom, tell me where you are?
I look for you both near and far
The years have changed us all so it seems
And now I only find you in dreams
Others will tell me you are doing fine
But when I look for you there's not a sign
You make playing this hide and seek so easy now
The games always playing, but I'm losing somehow
Even when you stand in front of me - I can't find you
Your blue eyes stare blankly without even a clue
I wonder just where you are when you hide deep inside
Is there even room for Jesus to come and abide?
I know He loves you so much more than me
So He's watchin' over you - can't you see?
Now I can only visit you, even if you don't know it
But someday when in Heaven, we will talk again while we sit
I can't wait until that time when I find you once again
We will laugh and sing with Jesus laughing, too, as our friend
There will be no more hide and seek for you or for me
The blinders will be shaken off and then you'll be free!

My heart goes out to you and your mom. It's a hard thing to deal with someone you love who has Alzheimers. This starts out kinda grim but the ending is very uplifting. Nice write.

Oh this is so sad, breaks my heart.
First time I've read of this topic being tackled, and you did it in such a fine way.

I'm not sure which on eis harder, losing a loved-one through death or losing a loved-one in this manner.

God bless you, and Merry Christmas.
Jeff
