good nite or good morning
when you read this does not matter
my heart beats once an eternity
wats a couple of hours
knowing you'll read this
is enough for me to dream tonight
how will you read it?
with the heavy eyes of a day
with the foggy eyes of a night
with the open arms of a friend
will you re read it and love it
will you smile and discard it
a rose has as many thorns as petals
a heart has as many aches as beats
for years ive watched the world
instead of living in it
i forgot what it was like
to join in the act
before i dream tonight, of the colours
that arent black or white
and the sounds that arent
ringing and monotone
i just wanted to say thank you
love, is what you've done for me...
whether you meant it or not

Well my eyes are wide open, I'm happier-n-****, Christmas is comming, I'm warm, have food, my animals, family close enuff if I don't stir after the 3rd or 4th day get to wondering. I'm listening to delila on v98.5, she's spreading luv.
so if it's for me-n-I read it or wrote it, it's true.
God bless u 4 these very, tender luving words.

LOL...your nickname is actually what drew me in...I like the sentiments you expressed in this piece, and the honest place it seems to come from. I wasn't a big fan of the slang version of English though...it takes away from the meaning somewhat, which is a shame...I do indeed like the thoughts laid out here though. Keep at it, and welcome to ypdc : )

| Thanks to all for the positive criticism so far. this is from a txt msg i sent a person recently. while ive tidied up most of the slang vocabulary, i felt it would have lost the setting of the poem for me had i removed it completely. hope thats a satisfactory explanation:) |
