Topic: SongLyrics

JOHNNY CASH KNEW ALL ABOUT HARD LIVIN
THATS WHY HE SAND FOR THOSE MEN IN PRISON
HE WAS GIVEN SOME BREAKS BUT ALWAYS GAVE BACK
STILL SOME CRITICS IGNORED THE MAN IN BLACK
WE'LL NEVER HAVE ANOTHER HERE LIKE JOHN CASH AGAIN
TO LET HIM BE FORGOTTEN WOULD BE AN AWFUL SIN

chorus
there was a day when outlaws were outlaws
and rebels were real
when country music singers had hearts made of steal
the music i love aint the same anymore
so heres to the outlaws who made it hard core

HERES AN OUTLAW YOU ALL SHOULD KNOW
HE GOES BY THE NAME OF DAVID ALLAN COE
HE TOOK A STAND FOR POOR WHITE TRASH
WHEN HE WROTE IF THAT AINT COUNTRY ILL KISS YOUR ASS
AND WOULD YOU LAY WITH ME IN A FIELD OF STONE
BUT I'D NEVER WANNA MEET HIM IN A DARK ALLY ALONE
NOT ONLY IS HE A SINGER BUT A SONG WRITER TO
AND THATS TWICE AS MUCH AS MOST GUYS CAN DO

repeat chorus

THE GHOST OF HANK WILLIAMS HAUNTS A MEMPHIS STREET
THEY SAY HE STUMBLES AROUND BARELY ON HIS FEET
HE HAD A FEW CADILLACS AND A HEART MADE OF GOLD
EVERYTIME I HEAR HIS VOICE MY BLOOD RUNS A LITTLE COLD
HE WASN'T JUST THE COUNTRY MUSICS FIRST TRUE OUTLAW
HE'S ALSO THE GREATEST LEGEND OF THEM ALL

end with chorus

My dad knew Johnny cash when he was young and his parents
I don't live a long way from Kingsland, Arkansas.
huggs,
emy
