A Little Boys Christmas Stocking

Contributed by DreamPoetess on Wednesday, 7th December 2005 @ 01:27:52 PM in AEST
Topic: Holiday Poetry

Little merry sock is grieving
She cannot find her mate,
And wondering why he went leaving
On such an undesirable date

White with green and red elves
The two of them were quite a pair,
She looked underneath the tree
And even under the stairs

She asked the washer if she saw
No, but I will check and see,
And to the dryer asking him
He said no, now don’t blame me

Then she looked under the bed
The mattresses said nope, not under here
Christmas Eve said, go back, check the drawer once more
The closet darkened its smile, nope not anywhere

Sob, and here it is the holidays
We two, far from Santa’s feet
And told him she was sorry
One of us, out of four, never again will meet

Now don’t you worry little merry sock
I will be sleighing, not walking
Ho, Ho, Ho, cheer up, cheer up, I have an idea
I will fill you with toys and candy, a little boys Christmas Stocking

Meagan

What a wonderful Christams write! ! ! I love the way you brought all the inanimate objects to life and gave them their own personalities and voices. Very creative. I loved this! A perfect Christmas tale with a happy ending.

Thank you for sharing.

Take care,

Tim
