winter, spring, summer and fall

Thin layer of pink stretched on horizon’s edge
The clouds lie random, grey across the blue.
I hadn’t seen a sight like this all year,
and suddenly my thoughts drift back to you.
Each place that we had been came back to mind.
And just as each cloud disappears from view,
each day flashed fast across my memory,
as winter spring and summer fall passed through.
You wildly laugh at all my foolish jokes
Me losing my religion in your eyes
Passied love and hope through clutching hands
The spring and summer winter fall went by
I use to watch you walk with joyful awe
Enraptured by each very step you took
And running in the rain your hair a mess
As summer fall and winter spring go on
Late stays in bed into the afternoon
The snow fall gently blanketing the grass
The perfect cold and lonely nights to huddle close
The fall and winter, spring and summer pass
The years went by like hours in a day.
Some slow and certain, others far too fast.
The clouds I watch are few and far between
As you and I have watched our season last.
