They say if something doesn't kill you,
it's bound to make you stronger.
My life has been so black and blue,
can't take it any longer.
But I'm still here, I'm still around,
I guess I must be tough.
Maybe it's time to stand my ground.
I'm gonna call Fate's bluff!
I will not cower anymore,
and play the victims part.
Whatever life throws though my door,
will only fuel my spark.
So throw towards me all you've got,
I dare you, bring it on!
You know I've already survived the lot.
And I know you're just a big con!
Belief gives you power, without it you're dead.
Pal, I've got some news for you,
your Golden Calf has been covered in lead,
and your lies are no longer true.
Instead of hiding in the dark,
afraid to take a chance,
I will rekindle my fading spark,
and you'll bask in MY luminescence.
I'll stand my ground, with my head held high.
No longer afraid of love.
No limits now, I've reached the sky.
Soaring the heights above!

Certainly comes across as a new found sense of self.
One line that particularly caught my attention was
"No longer afraid of love".
Never be afraid to love, it may hurt or disappoint sometimes, but it is also one of the most amazing things in the world.

Defiant that's a good thing. Some days I feel like I can kick the world's arse. Somedays I feel the world is kicking mine. I figure I just keep keepin' on....that's the key. This is the second piece of yours I've read and l like your style. Peace, Laura
