It hit me as if I were a nail,
I cannot flow, or bounce,
but must crawl;
as if I were a-
‘worm with a shell’.
They say to me:
“Whose words these are I think I know,
good, but it was so long – back.”
Plus, my voice scratches when I sing-
it must show up that way on paper, too
(enough to where they’d point it out).
Do they want me to ballad it out,
pick the weapon:
pen and paper, synonyms-
no ass-onance though.
It seems so dreary now,
we should just leave-
paragraphs to fiction.
