I Put My Pen To Ink

Contributed by sararose1950 on Sunday, 4th December 2005 @ 09:05:09 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Again I put my pen to ink,
a cry for understanding, I think.

Every year as the days grow short,
my soul is taken-I must retort.

The demons whisper in my ear,
"Worthless!" I can hear it clear.

"Who are YOU to seek light and love?"
Am I seen, here, or above?

I spiral down into the dark abyss,
longing for an escape from this.

I grow weak- so tired of this battle,
words that I pen, they seem like prattle.

I know I am not in this alone.
I long for laughter- pick up the phone.

But I hide my pain, behind a voice of cheer..
Can anyone see me? Can anyone hear?

Oh yes, you are seen and heard and so many hearts go out in sympathy and wish to assure you that you are infinitely loved by God and fellow men.
But it is so brave to come forward to admit that we have ups and downs and need each other.
Bravo ! courage is a great asset.!
Impressive peace of poetry.!
Love and peace
Elizabeth

As I have been where you are at...I hear you loud and clear. You are not alone my friend. Many understand....many are here. Peace to you, Laura

Wonderful write!!

But I hide my pain, behind a voice of cheer..
Can anyone see me? Can anyone hear?

I relate to that part so well. Keep up the great work.
