I see your face
Cast with expressions of black on white
Roughly carven from stone
Existing, but only just slight
Today was Autumn
And I lingered there
In the drifting sea of color
But even then, I watched you stare
As you smiled to another…
And I sat upon a throne of marble
Braiding the strands of time
As the snow kissed your lips
Silently knowing, that you cannot be mine..

Definitely something I can connect with...
Awesome imagery though.
Fav lines:
"Today was Autumn
And I lingered there
In the drifting sea of color"
Just stuck in my head, because I doubly interpreted it. I thought of the obvious; autumn, so falling leaves, or the "drifting sea of color". Then again, the drifting aimlessness of your cause got me too; Autumn always seems to be the time when everything falls apart... |

Wonderfully put together. The imagery is amazing
and artfully vivid for the reader's eye:
I see your face
Cast with expressions of black on white
Roughly carven from stone

The whole piece is wrought with great metaphors, but
this one appealed to me the most.
