Dark hollows abound
in spite of pleas of passion
and presumption.
Firelight was never meant
to be an end-all,
but the heart cries out
for torches.
Maker-love is a circle
like the sun
or a strong shield
or the round rim of the pit
when you fall.
But I would not worry.
Fighter-love precludes it
and you've played that part
long enough to know it well.
The stones call out -
take heed, take hold
and be on your way.
You don't belong here.
Once you regain the path,
you'll be given moments
of keen joy
at the sight of horizons.

Almost....almost I feel the sense to flee, to give up...and yet, and yet you have something here, something that will not let me turn away, something worth fighting for...
Very impressed! |

I can see that a kilt is now in order. So noted and I shall apply myself with haste.
Morning. |

Well now.... I wish I had posted the comment that Phil left here! Yes... there is something here that quietly insists, something that nudges... some that... knows. I feel at once both ignorant and aware --- oddly, it reminds me of RL in that way.
Intrigued,

You know..I found the other two parts of this easier to comment on than this one, for some reason...
The second stanza is the one the calls to me the most in this part, I love those lines, I think because I can understand tham and relate in my own little way.
Thanks for showing us a little more of yourself, Andrew, even if you are only scratching the surface.
Much love to you,
Phil xxx |

I love your in and out sentences, how they begin, form, go into being, live there for a moment, come back, and live on. you are a wonderful poet, I miss you Andrew. I'll make definition all my own, on what stones you refer to in the final stanza,
as I have done thus far through pts. 1 and 2;
that is to say, I can relate and apply this to much of my own trials and lessons..
