Who's that in the mirror?

Contributed by cm on Friday, 2nd December 2005 @ 11:43:21 PM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

Let me think before I speak. I don't see myself as being weak. I try to treat others in a respectful way,
Being concious of what I say. Trying not to be ugly, cruel and mean, as this could cause an embarrasing scene.
I try to walk in the other persons shoes, I don't make a lot of ridiculous rules, for myself, the next person, or for you,
Isn't that just something else to conform too? Not hardly, I try to keep things light, Then hopefully, good will be my plight.

Though that's not always the case, for I fall short in so many ways. Imperfection is forever before me.
To mentally punish, isn't healthy. When I fall, I get right back up, In a rut, I refuse to be stuck.
To dwell on past failures, I can't allow, I must move forward, right here and now.
Looking to the future with optimism and hope, striving for the positive is what I grope,
I try to build up and thus encourage, who of us wants to feel discouraged.
My hope is to live in a world of peace, where poverty, crime, and war, will cease,
Sickness and death, all things of the past, then we all can be happy, forever at last,
The person described, I try hard to be, steadily moving forward, is the only way for me!
The person described, I try hard to be, Steadily moving forward, is the only way for me!
The person described, I work hard to be. Steadily moving forward, is the only way for me!

Good sentiment for a life philosophy. If you are even half of what you have described, then you are on your way to sainthood! Seriously, don't let these good acts and feelings sour - it does my heart good to see such expression. The repeating rhyme for the last three lines worked well. keep posting.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
