For a long time in the silence of the night
she again spoke to herself… whispering
such things she could never speak to the world...
tears falling down her cheeks, tears containing her secrets,
secrets suggesting that society might condemn,
forever, a part of her that she could never deny,
not in the depths of her very soul...
At her very core she knew who she was:
a lover of both a woman and a man...
an eternal lover in such fashion, she bearing
no guilt but that she loved, that she loved
in her manner and in her way, and they, they
the ones who condemned her...
they judge, jury, and executioners...
But she could not stay forever in the dark…
such an impossibility, such an assault
to her senses...such a need to spread her wings
and to soar, to soar above the horizon
of their collective denials of her rights
to be the person she truly was...
Stronger grew her resolve now...
to speak her secrets, to say it as it was,
to that forsaken and disavowing world...
judges but judging themselves in the end...
She was who she was, yes, indeed,
a beautiful, gracious, and warm human being,
someone who happened to be ever so gifted
in her make-up, a lover of both a woman and a man,
an eternal lover in such fashion, bearing
no guilt but that she loved in her manner
and in her way, in her manner and in her way,
and in her span of time in this world of humanity.

| wow this is true.. one has to be themselves .. weather or not they are judged by others i feel.. one who try to act like something they are not will never be truly happy.. this was a very good write. and sadly this happens everyday. and people turn a blind eye and let others judge others or they themselves cast judgement.. thank you for sharing this eye opening write with me.. great job. |
