the sewage worker & the town councillor

Contributed by roisin on Thursday, 23rd January 2003 @ 10:30:00 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

A sewage worker died today.
Down the sewer like all good sewage workers do.
They put the lid on the manhole and
told his wife that he got swept away
by a tidal wave of shite.
They gave her a few hundred quid,
a nice funeral with an empty casket,
and a pension worth a pittance of his wages.
The children got bags of crisps and pats on their heads...
and they all lived happily,as they could,
ever after.

The town councillor died today.
He was best known for robbing folk
and bent construction contracts.
He was laid to rest in gold, and a perfect profile.
Everyone, who was anyone, was there.
His wife now has an entourage of twelve people,
and a mansion in the Dublin mountains
where she can be alone with all her trials.
And they all go on screwing each other and
everyone else,
ever after.

Roisin. Naaaastieeeee but pretty close to the truth. Good on yer! I've done one for the OAP's and down with the Social workers (and the Police) mind you it's not their fault its the system.
It's called "You can't do anyfink to us"

I'll carry a banner when we march.

it's terrible but true that the general public boils down to a statistic. paychecks and titles tend to measure worth. what ever happened to character, or the fact that you were alive and you put a mark here, no matter the size?
