An illusion in the blink of an eye,
Made for one or two,
Shadows beneath the tears that the angels cry,
Dancing in and through,
The rain,
The thunder giving to lightning white and blue,
The shame,
Of being alone,
But no more,
So broken and prone,
To be the wave that ebbs on the shore,
She stops crying,
And blending her tears with the rain,
And she stopped crying,
Long before the midnight train,
And when the cold sets in,
Piercing through to the bone,
She shivers with apprehension within,
And she doesn’t feel so alone,
And as you dance with the girl,
The one with the broken smile and the piercing eyes,
Remember the thread that is her world,
Through her lonely cries,
And how a single forget-me-not,
Can make her remember,
Better times with a loosened knot,
Within her,
And keep her from her fears,
If only for a moment,
In the rain- simply prevent her tears,
And you will know what it meant,
Someday when the rain stops.
