No longer aggrieved by your silence
I couldn't care less
But I am so tired of the violence
And I thought you were love
The thoughts you share with me
Such things you say...
You brought me to think you'd set me free
And I thought you were love
Yet, you're the one with the shackles
You're the one held by chains
You're the one without love
running through your veins
And I thought you were love...

Love can be deceptive that's true.Sometimes you convince yourself you are in it when you never were.
Nice work

Honest and to the heart. I liked it a lot and i hope to
read more; it was nice to see the repetition of the title
throughout the poem... it really helped emphasize
the despairing line:
And I thought you were love....
Take care! |
