My personal War

I've spent my life
trying to hide me
I was trying to spend my life alone
but that wasn't meant to be
Eighteen years of hiding
and it only took one glance for her to see
behind the boy I showed the world
the man that's really me
I used to drown in music
I was only at peace when I got to play
Now i find a peace that far surpasses that
when next to her I lay
Knowing that I'll see her
I look forward to each new day
All my life until now
I never knew it could be this way
I can honestly call her the love of my life
because my life is of our love
She saved me from myself
a gift from up above
Forever to her
I will give my love
I like to dance a jig
I wear a gumpy grin
After soo many losses
it feels good to win
After being dead soo long
it's nice to breathe again
I've known who she is
for three years and more
But I know her now
like no one else before
In just a few weeks time
she fired the last shot of my personal war
