Grandma's day is coming

Contributed by sweetpixiegrl on Tuesday, 29th November 2005 @ 09:24:51 AM in AEST
Topic: FamilyPoems

an excitement fills the air
as an arrival soon will come
my first grandbaby, a boy
just another day to some
to me it's another chance to hold
a precious gift of GOd once more
a bouncing bundle of giggling joy
will come carried through my door
a tear comes to my eye as i dream
of the times we'll go to the park
maybe share icecream before dinner
or soothe his fear of the dark
i'll spoil him relentlessly
give him everything i can afford
entertain him every moment possible
so he will never be lonely or bored
i'll read a bedtime story each night
and sing to him a soft sweet lullaby
rock him to sleep and cuddle him close
and dry his crying eye
i love him already and he's not yet come
but soon i will be holding him in my arms
my daughters first born son

Very well put! Someone to spoil and let the mommy try to undo it! lol!!! That's the way I felt with the first one close by enough to grab and hold! (Of course--I had to compete for that privilege over a certain auntie..) I love your poems! Keep 'em comin'!

This is a beautiful poem filled with love and joy. Oh, yes.. when my two daughter in laws were carrying my grandsons and granddaughters it was so beautiful, and I got to listen to them in the tummies, and feel them and the feeling of love is the most beautiful thing, yes, you love them and then the day they are here you rejoice. This poem is a masterpiece.

Hugs, raquelLeah
