Comfortably Numb

It's there,
Here
Deep inside of me.
Somewhere,
It must be.
It lays awake, haunting,
Crying.
Yet i remain numb.
No tears shall weep from my eyes,
No cut shall make me bleed.
Hit me,
Beat me,
You cannot get me.
As i am not really here...
I sleep in the shadows,
Falling through life.
Nothing can hurt me,
Not now, not ever.
Watch me stumble,
See me run,
For i am comfortably numb...

I can relate. Sometimes it is the numbness that helps us feel the pain that the world tries to cast. Cuts that wont bleed, tears that dont weap. I like it. Very nice write.. It is the numbness that helps us become feeling things again..

Very disturbing, haunting piece. Emotional and piercing. Very good work!
