Terminal Muse

Contributed by Rakerman1999 on Monday, 28th November 2005 @ 11:01:12 PM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

Words keep swirling in my mind
disjointed thoughts that cannot find
a place to rest and thus reside
behind a wall where they can hide...

Images left incomplete
that fall as teardrops at my feet
and gather into pools of dread
with inspiration all but dead...

Letters splashed in useless verse
a symptom of the writers curse
which strikes the pen with desperate times
and plagues of dull and empty rhymes...

Darkness reigns where light once dwelled
the fire gone from eyes that held
a brightness deep beneath the blue...

and there is nothing I can do

L. Carling C2005

Oh, Larry.... oh geez this... (*not so ironically can't find the words to complete the sentence*).

A few days back (on page 189 of Random Thoughts, this is)... I let go a rant that was born of the same.... pain. I very nearly put "frustration" or "struggle" at the end of that last sentence... but pain really is a more appropriate word, isn't it? (And for the record, I hate that I know that.... and hate that I suspect you'd agree. *sigh*)

This piece is so obviously the work of a true poet. It is, I think, a bit of the thunder a poet must endure while waiting for lightning to strike again. You are a poet, Larry... whether or not you are actively putting words on the page. It's loud as hell within the silence, I know... but rest assured - your voice can still be heard, clear and unmistakeable, amidst the sound of thunder.

Excellent work, my poet friend... and painfully relatable, I'm afraid. *hugs*

~Snem

Larry I cannot tell you how much I can relate
to this your write was just so perfect and so
poetic. Every line was just filled with such
beauty and such sadness. You should go on
MSN so we can talk more.

*buys him a beer*

I wonder why this is ringing so loudly for me..... perhaps it's because I can relate though I could never have said it so eloquently....
You still got it, my old friend.....unlike me.
Hugs and Happy Holidays
Jenni

Well, here is the poet's foremost grief vividly put to paper. You've done very well here, Larry; it breathes the feeling of despair so familiar to all of us, I believe.

Bravo!

Andrew

Larry I have read and enjoyed many of your wonderful poems. You have such a gentle spirit that is woven into the body and reflected in your poetry. You are a real talent and poet my friend. You have a gift, and while you are frustrated right now, this will pass. You just need to let it happen.

Your passion will return, Larry

Will
