Ice

Topic: EmotionalPoetry

White, everywhere, yet only a golden light burns in this room
Slowly it devours every curve, every edge
Every hair on my body stands on end
Even in this golden aura I am cold

Wrapped in a cloud, I can not escape
I can not find the life in me
The air kisses my face, leaving a stinging trail behind
It's so beautiful, solitude at its finest but it is not enough

A star that paints the world a brighter shade can not colour my heart a hue lighter
Simply I am alone
A butterfly with broken wings, fluttering just above shards of crooked metal
Ripped and torn, tired and helpless

Pleading for a string ti remain above whirlpools of screaming snow flakes, feeling like a feline desperate for attention
Devoid of heat and comfort, my eyes feel heavy and unable to see what is in clear view

Breathing in shallow breath, every nerve ending in my skin screams, aware of every touch and caress of my useless sweater
The golden fire burns within this room but white water steals its heat away
I am cold, I am floating, warm me up and make me live again

Holy WOW! This was so beautifully poetic! The imagery
was astounding and the words you chose, altogether
perfect! I close my eyes, and yes, I see it. I feel it. Wonderful!
Simply wonderful!

amazing write, i love the imagery especially in the second stanza about the butterfly. Ice can be beautiful but it does take away your warmth, much like other things in life...
Great job

I really do not know what to say, except that I really like this one.
Take care.
