Despairing Country

Darkness covers the once bright sky,
And Topaz is sold for meager rations.
A newly bought root is sliced and cut,
To feed a starving family in a rundown hut.
Super high debts brought the government down,
And a once great civilization now can’t deal.
Trying to keep other countries at a distance,
But the other countries are power hungry,
And desperate to rule what’s easy to conquer.
So we bolt our doors and load our guns,
Desperation to slow an end coming faster and faster.
Whether they succeed to save their country,
Only time will tell, we’ll just have to see.
