Tis Better To Have Loved & Lost

Contributed by babydoll2129 on Saturday, 26th November 2005 @ 02:20:30 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Tis better to have loved & lost,
Than to have never loved at all,
This is a phrase that people use,
When a heart Urns to be calmed.

Is there truth in the statement made,
Or is it merely a soothing line,
Is love for the moment worth the pain,
Or is it a waste of time.

Those who have never loved at all,
May not have felt much pain,
But then comes the phrase that people use,
Nothing ventured, Nothing gained.

Those who have tried to love & lost,
Two lovers torn apart,
Will carry wonderful memories,
But bare the pain of a bleeding heart.

Tis better to have loved & lost,
Than to have never loved at all?
I'd say it depends which way the wind blows,
And which way the love bird falls.

I dissagree. Sometimes better than have not loved, but then you still have that empty feeling. I guess it's how you look at it... Very cryptic. Nice work by the way.
