Half Me

Sitting across
The table from me
Is a sly super-devil
With eyes that can see
He matches my drinks
With a half smile
We throw empty glasses
On a side pile
He lights a cigarette
Every time I do
I half suspect
For my one, there're two
I swear we see
Eye to eye
Until he takes it upon
To see right through me
We bounce words like
Ping pong balls in oil
But I half swear
It is worth the toil
I catch thoughts that
He is smarter than me
But I half know
That he is me.
