California Here I Come!

California Here I Come!

Cast to the winds my soul now feels,
Of promises broken, lies and faded deals,
To face an uncertain world, a new life,
To no longer be this mans wife.

Pack the bags, say the goodbyes,
Move to a new state, as this love dies,
New friends, new places , new faces I see
Now is the time to find the new me.

Shaking in my boots with fear,
Of not having my family near
But showing the brave face and smile
As I travel each long and lonely mile.

But sandy beaches eagerly call
To reach for new dreams to stand tall
Moving from rural to progressive
A change that seems most impressive.

Guide me greater powers, show me the way
To a life so much better, happy and gay
Help me to share both joy and laughter
To become a butterfly in this happily ever after.
