Summer

Contributed by AnastasiaN on Tuesday, 22nd November 2005 @ 08:47:35 PM in AEST
Topic: happypoetry

Big trucks and dirt roads
sandy beaches and motor boats
tailgates and bottled beer
an open highway and crossing deer
horseback riding and sandy shoes
skinny dipping and a late night cruise
suntanning and water fights
equal memorable summer nights

This is almost idyllic..It sure sounds a beautiful place having such things associated with it..The things mentioned are all symbolic of (lost?) summer nights / days I guess.

Lovely poem..

well thanks to brilliant computers...my comment got cut off at the beginning of my poem. This poem was titled in contradiction to "Winter" as I was feeling the need for some happy thoughts. And this poem was written with last summer on my mind and my great friends that got me through my last year at home. I never thought so before but it's an awesome place to vacation and we do all those things on a regular basis. I can't wait to go back....ttfn!

danger plus joy.. we were born happy, to see the world like you wrote it is the one who walks those summer nights of yesterday, follow into tomorrow, we hope to see this, which one can be thankful for.. blessed is the one who finds these joys yet exhibit safety , keep the lights down low for the deer.. ones.. all visible signs.. everything you wrote, warning.. live life and be safe. raquel leah
