Subliminal

Topic: abstract

Sit behind the radio,
Static fills the air.
I don't hear it,
The sound comes from somewhere else.
White tiles carry me out,
to give you a ride again.
A pig on the ferris whell,
stick a coin in for another go.
We reached our destination,
another cross tinges the day
There are two different ways to go in.
I go one with you -
and one with him.
I think I stopped.
Not hesitation, but an "alerted pause."
For the first time, I doubted
and I can't even remember why.
I look down, too ashamed to look in the same direction you did.
The cream colored concrete stills my mind before another race.
You kept running so fast, I didn't think I could keep up.
The green bondage that kept you away from me -
and the cheap dye that never fades.
Just keep walking faster,
I'm too far behind now.
I'll sit in a corner until you forget.
Forget for a while until the next cross decides to burn.
It's bound to happen,
It always does.
You keep drinking all the water to put it out.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
