Because my God is merciful,
because my God is good,
because my God is full of faithfulness
I know I'll be understood…
Because compassion consumes His heart,
and kindness guides His hand,
because in tenderness He Loves,
in His sovereign will I shall stand…
In Him alone will I place my trust and my hope.

…and though my flesh be awash in tears,
and my heart be tortured by those old pains and fears,
with a quiet spirit my hope will rest with my Lord,
Jesus, you are my Lord…

Now, I don't want you thinking I've got it all together,
cause believe me, I don't…
There are times I know exactly what to do,
but, so often I won't…
You see, I feel pain just like everyone else does,
when I'm cut, I bleed,
so, don't be giving me your high-brow philosophy,
it's His grace that I need.

Because my Father is merciful,
because my Father is good,
because my Father is full of faithfulness
I know I'll be understood…

and kindness guides His hand,
because with tenderness He Loves,
in His sovereign will I shall stand…
In Him alone will I place my trust and my hope.

Now, some men are blessed with blacktop highways,
some men travel in yachts,
but, some men are walking barefoot on gravel,
not by choice,
it's simply their lot…
Still, Jesus is familiar with each pain and sorrow,
He walked the gravel roads…
So, whatever reason exist for your failure,
just keep on walking in the grace He bestows…

Because our Brother is merciful,
because our Brother is good,
because our Brother is full of faithfulness
I know we'll be understood…
Because compassion consumes His heart,
and kindness guides His hand,
because in tenderness He Loves,
in His sovereign will, we can stand…
In Him alone should we place our trust and our hope.

Thank you first of all for your comment
on my write and second of all this is a
very good write. a beautiful song to the
Lord and it has great rythem and really
flows along as you read or sing the
words. take care and keep up the
writing....Steve
