I Cried

Contributed by Shnannon on Monday, 21st November 2005 @ 05:40:49 PM in AEST
Topic: goodbyepoetry

I cried last night
I cried for you
And then I also cried for me
You frustrate me to no end
Sometimes I want to kick you
And then leave you alone
To figure out why
You're making bad choices
REALLY bad choices
I know you can't
Grow up overnight
But you're acting like a child
I'm not your mother
I'm your friend
And as your friend
I'm now going to let you fall
And learn how
To take care of yourself
Don't come crying to me anymore
Because you didn't get your way
Good luck
And goodbye.

Some of our friends rely on us too much to pick them up when they fall over and over again. Sometimes it's good to let go for awhile so that they can learn to depend on themselves. A very well expressed and written piece of poetry. I wish u all the best.
*hugs*

Awwww!

This poem really hits home for me, I can understand how much it can hurt to make the decsion to let a friend fall, instead of picking them back up again and again. I've been there myself.

It is the best thing to do, but I know how hard it is.

I'm sorry you have to go through it.

A good, emotive poem, and one that people an easily relate to.

Good write,
*hugs*
