Set Free 11/13/05

I struggled with depression not too long ago
But now I am set free
For God has shown me the truth
And I'm embracing it tightly

I'd been depressed for quite a long time
Happiness was nowhere to be found
On my face, I wore a smile
But deep inside, I frowned

I did not believe that there was truth
But then, God had shown me
It felt so good to embrace
I'll hold on to it throughout eternity

I had chosen to stay depressed
Instead of taking it to God
Now, I choose happiness and always will
As down each road I trod

This doesn't mean life will be easy
But that God will help me through it
There will still be many trials and storms
But with God, I can do it

God is so very real to me now
I'll never be the same
He's taught me how to truly smile
I trust His Holy Name

He wants to help you through your storm
So let Him, won't you?
He will be your forever friend
His promises will stay true

I thank Him every day for setting me free
I commit myself to Him
With Him, I'll walk each day
And not go back to my old ways again
