I saw a Shooting Star...

Suicide

I saw a shooting star tonight,
But instead of bringing me joy
It filled me with grief
(I wished for death)
For it reminded me of my own life
Alone in a vast expanse
Shining for a brief time
And then... fading out
Tears clouded my vision
And all I could see was darkness
Transparent, walls tumbling,
Insanity cresting to a peak
The voices are clear
And the horror is reflected in my eyes
I grab at the gun that suddenly appears
I must silence the pain
My reasons will be spattered on the wall behind me
Goodbye...

Joel a thought provoking write.
Sadly I can so much relate to what you have written. An emotionally packed poem filled with so much heart break and sadness. Pain, suffering and the need to let everything just slip on by. I feel like this often.
A sad, deep and very well written piece of poetry that brings tears to ones eyes.

Such a poignant piece Joel. The way you have written it down just gives the reader such a chill. It really is magnificent on how you think of this stuff.
Well done you.

I love your poem...I like the casual style that is not restricted by rhyme schemes or rhythm. The pain in this one is so...evident. Well done. |

Well, luckily last week was leonid shower week, so one shooting star every two minutes for one whole night, this happens every year, you can wait another year and wish for something better. |
