RUNNING FROM YOUR SHADOW

Contributed by lostrelic on Thursday, 17th November 2005 @ 04:29:55 PM in AEST
Topic: AngryPoetry

WHAT IS TRUTH WE ALL ASK
when we listen to the lies and follow there tasks
WHAT IS THE MEANING WE ALL SAY
when we wallow in spite day after day
WHERE IS THE END WE ALL HAVE TO FACE
WHAT DO WE KNOW WE ARE ALL RATS IN THIS RACE

TORMENTED souls of the young now a day's
they can see the error of there parents ways
a planet going to absolute ruin
and with concrete we pave our own tomb

TAMPERING WITH NATURE gods we are not
Is this what our grandfathers fought
then there is glam page after page
now dont you see where i am getting my rage

With children dying selling drugs on the street
while there mother turns a trick to get her family something to eat
and pills and potions keeping our loved ones alive
with the cost they are paying im sure they are wishing they died

WHATS WITH SEX AND VIOLENCE ON DAY TIME TV
why are they teaching your children what to see
Laywers and sales all paving the way
a toss away society is all we protray
divorce and marriage lol i cant keep a straight face
so scared of those vows i hide out of grace

self-righteousness and egos the oneness of man
Dont you see thats all part of his plan
FANCY cars tall walls and a mansion in the center
there's a dream i cant wish to inspire

JUST LIVE AND LOVE dont be blinded by shine
there is no love that you will find
WALK FOR WHATS RIGHT stop looking the other way
lets end these games we all play

remember i am nothing but just a man
i dont even know the extent of my plan
but i do have a voice and a pen in hand
i am just wanting to know where others stand

voicing absolute truth and loving freely without games is a luxury afforded only by the unfettered.

Regan this is mind blowing. Absolutely sensational. An outstanding poem written by a very artistic and talented poet. I like the way you brought this across to ur reader.

remember i am nothing but just a man
i dont even know the extent of my plan
but i do have a voice and a pen in hand
i am just wanting to know where others stand

I take my hat off to u my friend. Well done.

Hot damn Regan! This was gooooood!!!

You speak of things that most others fear to look at, much
less write about. We all, at one time, have been fed up
with the way the world is ... but we must channel our
frustration into ways to make it better. If we don't, then
complaints are just that. Complaints. (Although, a lot
of us, I fear, just feel too small and insignificant to
change things ... tis very sad)

This was a very emotive piece. And I would hazard a guess
that most people would agree with you on these thoughts.
Powerful words penned bravely. Well done Regan!

A flawed poem, but I'm not sure if you did that intentionally. The capital words don't add to the impact, they are unneeded. Some typos. Flows.. okay. Not bad.

Blessed Be.

Your thoughts were written very beautifully, and i respect your views on life, but i'm sorry, i must be very opposite in terms of how we see the world. i disagreed with alot of what you said, but its just my point of view. but this poem DID show your feelings, and thats what i respect.

Wow, this is extremely great...and what's more, it's all true.

The views projected in this poem are agreed with and encouraged by me.

Keep the hate coming, sometime someone will get it straight.
