Standing on a snow crowned hilltop
on a magic crystal night,
jewelled stardust sprinkling down
to cloak me with celestial light.
Time is frozen with the landscape
locked in dreamlands lonely cry,
barren trees wave ghostly fingers
pointing to the winter sky.
Midnights chime is soft and distant
down the valley far away,
ice capped chapel locked and empty
heaven is another day.
I made my wish on shining star
a wish I wanted from the start,
to wander in the realms of magic
hand in hand with kindred heart.
I wandered slowly down the hill
and thought of you in reverie,
and wondered if would come the day
my wish would really come to be...

I've been there many times and I can see why it gives you such inspiration. It is like another world there.
Nice work

I adore the Lake district, I must admit. It really is an inspiring place.
I really like this, the images are beautiful and the poem itself has a magical feel. It's dreamy. It really draws the reader into it.
Great write,
I'll have to read more.
*hugs*
