In Remembrance of Frank

Topic: dedicatedpoems

They asked me to write
They asked me to remember
Should I make light
That dark day in November.

There was a boy before that
No, not a sweetheart who lied
One who means more than that
Was my brother who died.

Friends who knew him well
From football games on someone's lawn
Tales from whom foretell
From night unto the coming dawn.

Frank had loads of tales he told
There were those who liked his work
When his stories would unfold
Not a single person stirred.

Life it goes so very fast
Those who were here not long ago
Are all gone now in the past
We live on in our lonely woe.

Gone, but so clearly not forgotten.
You have given a glimpse into his life by the words you have written here.

Very beautiful Linda in honor of your sweet brother.. you painted a beautiful picture of him, I know he is smiling at you. Listen to your heart often, he will come to visit you. It took my mother a long time to come visit me in spirit, not long at all for my dad.. maybe because she was waiting for him, then both talk to me together.. well they do, and also my oldest sister, all three of them. It took several years for my first husband to come to me, other than in prayer.. and when he did, I felt him both my sons felt him.. I got a visit from my oldest to tell me the story, and when my oldest was at the house, my youngest son called to tell of the good news.. I listened, smiled... but before I heard each tell me, I said, I know what you are going to tell me.. and the greatest thing was.. it was on his birthday when he chose to come to us.. Nov. 13. One time my oldest got to visit his dad in his dream and he was told to go visit certain people that day.. so we had to drive all over the place, and we had to tell them that his dad told us to do it.. his way of making sure we all stayed together as family..

Lovely write Linda,

raquelLeah
