The sound of thunder

Contributed by Poetic_Influence on Wednesday, 16th November 2005 @ 11:47:36 AM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

Dark clouds fill the air
Another day left in dispair
No ones here and no ones there
I can't find you anywhere
Alone in the dark
Cannot see a thing
You have left your mark
And I'm amazed by its sting
These clouds are getting heavy
And soon it will rain
The tears will levy
And flood with no drain
You knew I wasnt ready
To feel that kind of pain
But you were so steady
And eager to obtain
Thought I rejected you
The thunder resided
You did what was expected of you
And you had already decided
The lightening struck
And left a bruise on my skin
I was stuck
And I knew you would win
You beat me
The electricity went out
I cant see
And I'm too scared to shout
You violated my body
Every single inch
You picked me up and then dropped me
You drew back your fist and I flinched
Defenseless
A thousand tears could save me
I hope your impressed
With all of the pain that you had gave me
You have conquered once again
Prou of your sin
It was..
The storm of tears
The storm of fears
The storm that in my mind
Still appears
I will never be the same
And its you that I blame
Because the sound of thunder in my brain
Still remains...and I dont know what to do

You brought tears to my eyes with this sad heart breaking write. I'm so sorry you experienced such a terrible thing (rape). My heart and prayers go out to you. I commend you for writing this write.

  • Deep, emotional write.

I loved the way the thunder and storm was intertwined with everything else.

    Somewhat fresh new outlook.

Rhyme and flow was pretty good, though rhythm had, admittedly, a couple of hiccups here and there throughout.

    Overall though, a touching write.

    Thanks for sharing.

This was very sad to read and it spoke loudly. I hope that it's not you who hears the sound of thunder, but if it is, know you aren't alone. That storm is above many. Thank you for sharing it.

    Be well,
    Loende
