Inheritance

Contributed by Man_On_High on Wednesday, 16th November 2005 @ 03:08:47 AM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

Throughout the blandished chasm of my mind
is cast insatiable pain
spinning in spirals, mazed in their infancy..
seeking the blurred hierogliphics of the very beginning.

Deafmute tounges of tounge-tied thoughts
flare across the oceanic wastes of a room
as loud as an afternoon canvas,
sharp as a knife in the ribs...
blade-toothed serpentine whispers
lipping away the crumbling ledges of my mind.

The inumerable instances of exsistence,
swelling and visual between the clock's death-rattle-
tenacious fingers of earth pushing up
through jagged concrete roots..
defying the crushing feet of men
in sing-song streets of the ole' tripple deckers.

Affinity, glimmering briefly, beautifully,
in never-known faces of singular strangers
in the broken, burning alleys of sunset.

The electric hum of creation...
caught once within the satin swish
of a slow motion head-turning, hair-toss
and down the bruised and unmemorable avenue
of all my days.

The bleak, blanched limbs of winter
mirrored in the undiscernible windows...
a voice babbling in an empty room
in vain, to drown out it's own dull, rebellion;
burnt and locked in by an iron heritage
of blackened eyes, stacks of newspapers and dead hope;
a life of rust, shinning squalor
heaped against the sky.

Small, impetuous beasts, embroided beads of love and lust..
holy novenas and adultery-
rabid, waiting thoughts in soiled smocks,
toiling out the days end;
yellowing, crispy leaves of books
shadowed in dusty, forgotten corners...

a solemn tear rolls away
and a hand lightly brushes my cheek...

the lonliness of being on earth.

The deep write that one has set upon all. Such emotion.......Such images of one sitting in a stare of blankness, yet so much on the mind.! What words used to describe all. The lonliness that captures most; yet are we really?!

Thank You for a descriptive, and mind boggling write.Always a pleasure, to read what one with such talent can create.! Relates, all so well.!

Well Billy...this is quite the emotive heart spill...Poetically, you captured the essence of loneliness in every detail in this piece.
Good job, but I'm sure you're not too lonely :D

I found this to be a double edged sword kinda of write. Is it the unknown, the unanswered that makes us alone on earth? Or is it the earth itself that makes us alone? Or are they one in the same?….ok now im even more confused…I like this write for its depth and for its recognition of not knowing as somethign collective and passed down…or as you put it " the blurred hierogliphics of the very beginning".

nice write

A deep, emotional and sad write. You have the amazing ability to pen down your utmost inner thoughts and feelings. Your way with words is absolutely sensational. As Eddy said it, I too bow to your excellence dearest Billy. A special gifted and very talented poet you sure are. Chin up my sweet friend. May sorrow and lonliness never find their way to your beautiful heart.
*much love to you Billy*

A tired and forlorn being, a shattered heart, a bruised, but still
seeking soul. These are things that this write evokes in me,
dearest billy. Such an outpouring from the heart. Your talent
never fails to amaze. This one, especially, was written with
much veracity and courage. Your diversity is astounding !
Somehow this saddens me ... in much the way that the
loss of innocence could and does. Almost like something
pure is now missing. May your days ever be hopeful and
sweet, dear friend --

moved, always.

~Breezy
(thinking there is nothing more fragile than the human heart,
and nothing more beautiful than the warmth of a friend.)
