forgot to love me

Contributed by Marly on Wednesday, 16th November 2005 @ 12:12:09 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

In all our days I can remember only pain
The times I struggled to keep you well
But in the end it was nothing to have gained
No appreciation for all that I have done
Calling me names and controlling my every move
Has made me want to run
Yes I am stupid to put up with a boy like you
In the beginning I thought you used me
Seems to this day it’s still true
All your broken promises keep me well aware
That one day when I might need you
I’d expect you not to be there

You don’t know how to love
only use
And because of this it’s me that you will loose
It’s not the same, the way I feel today
When I know in 10 minutes
You’ll be begging me to stay
I can’t look at you the same
My trust has perished and died
It is me who you blame
But you are the one who’s always lied

You have concentrated only on you
Forgot I was here
Used me like a ****
And kissed away my tear
I’m here to struggle my life away
Too scared to leave and
too scared to stay
So my heart will grow smaller as you hurt me
everyday
I’ll hold in every feeling
you don’t listen anyway
I need to realize that I have been used
Two years wasted
feeling hurt and abused
Maybe one day you’ll open your eyes and see
That I was waiting
But you forgot to love me

This is a tragedy and a well written one too. I found a couple of spelling errors though. Second stanza, line six- begging. And in the first line of the third stanza- concentrated. Other than that well done. Stay strong.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
