Your first birthday

Contributed by Suzy on Tuesday, 15th November 2005 @ 02:37:45 PM in AEST
Topic: BirthdayPoems

Covered in cake and frosting with a smile spread ear to ear
One solitaire candle helps celebrate the joy of your first year
We sing you Happy Birthday while you play among wrap and bows
We marvel at how you touched our lives just one year ago
I remember the first time I got to hold you
How I kissed your head and whispered your name
You've changed our lives forever
Our hearts won't ever be the same
As a child you'll love this day for the cake and presents too
As parents we'll love your day for the gift we were given was you
Each year we add another candle so proud to watch you grow
But always with the memory of your first day so long ago

Suzy such a beautiful heart warming write. As a mother myself, I know of the joy that a child brings into ones life. May ur daughter Aspen have the happiest birthday out. May she have many more happy birthdays in her years ahead.
*hugs*
