Classroom Reminiscing

Nostalgic

Broken chalk - half of whole -
dust settled, awaiting,
swish of steps to lift.
Relaxed slumber,
hiding dreams,
dying to choke throats - fill lungs -
with dry school memories.
White 5 gallon pail:
like at home on the farm;
we'd shovel feed until wholly coated,
then bear the burden of beasts to the barn.
It rests protected thinly
from the age-old garbage,
the waste products of a mind,
rejected ideas,
and confirmed failures of red.

truly poetic..
to conjure these words
from that which inspired you..
is in itself..brilliant-
extremely well written and very idealistic.
5 on this from me.
