I am a stone
I cannot be broken
I will not fear passing things
I will not fear things past
I will stand tall through all storms
I will not retreat from rough waters
I will rise above all waves of pain
I will break through all tides of hatred
I will not be bound by things of this world
I am a stone
I cannot be broken

...a solidly written, no non-sense presentation...
...I was intrigued by your title...I have gone through some really rough stuff...I finally got some understanding...the key being early childhood development and more particularly, Attachment Theory...I finally created my own "Self-affirming Mantra" to help me when "Self-"compromising behavior or feelings start pulling me down...and you're right...when I follow this, I have characteristics that resemble a rock...mostly the durability...the neat thing is that while that part of me is solid as a rock, the rest of me can be soft as lamb's wool...no, much softer!!!
...if you're interested, my "Self-affirming Mantra" is in my journal area...
...thanks for your conceptual sharing...it's good stuff...
