Cant bear to watch them dance
I am embarrassed for them
They clap
But everyone is a sucker for a good love song
I cant tell the difference
Between movement and stagnation
As deliberate confusion, cause and effect
A body numbing, feeblemindedness, I am to accept
There is no distinction in the light of day
The stop sign is blinking
The pedestrian has the right of way
The footsteps leading down the corridor of decay
Into the darkness that awaits
Into the frozen time of a memory
And he says:
“ If this is the last step, before I drown
I wish it to be worthy of the mud in the ground”
Complicated by the lack of water
That is soon to be found
The drought of precipitation in dry clouds
The amount of deliberation to no avail
A circumstance of a pervasive tale
Capable of turning the tides,
Taking control back
Starting with the high ransom
Paid in full, and so he cries:
“Take my possessions, keep my gold
I wish not for material, but only to grow”
Facilitated by economic misfortune
The subway rider is left without a token
To board the train he must risk a limb
He must forfeit a whim to act in stride
Or be gobbled up
And digested from the inside
Rennin to supplement the active enzyme
Too many worriers
Not enough warriors
When too many enablers
Turn to takers
The loose fit protocol
Designed to fit us all
An outcast, he pleads for a favor:
“Accept me into your crowd, your organization, endowed,
The outside is forsaken, in-doors, behind glass,
I beg for your protection, help me pass, erase, renew”
There is no difference in assuming or having faith
As fate interacts with the measly serving on the plate
Takes what it wants back, easy, and leaves him to contemplate:
“I am the nature, the hereditary byproduct,
the organism, crawling to stand, feeding to grow,
reading to know, needing to know,
bleeding to know!,
if not for me, it ceases to exists, the silence intense,
the splendor of it all continues to shine and persist,
I am the person I have always tried to dismiss”
Looming in the foreground
Stimuli discriminate
From the shadow of the backdrop
The backstop is luminous
Shine through the peep hole inverted
Stood up on the vertical end
Shot down when released to the sky
All that he had wished for was to dance like them
And he moved about
Pacing back and forth
Right foot first out the door
Neck dangling to the floor
Eyes balls in his pocket
Fluid filled socket
He can not bear to look at it any more
“ I choose not to see, what dangers await,
what ego mixes with the shame, the guilt”
-Harsh words for white milk spilt-
“I choose not to feel, the obvious burn,
the maximum potential, the minimum is learned,
and in time, the redeemer will take his turn”
Pessimist posing as an idealist
When idealism is restless
And on the verge of collapse
Ensuring its burden is relentless
Submerged are the drowning gaps
Gasp of air in oxygen rich fuel
The air pockets collapse
Suck through a hose in the ceiling
If the blue blood cells are to make the last lap
The air outside is scarce as well
“I can not breathe, the pollutants,
the garbage, inhaled knowledge,
too much predicting, nothing solid,
fortune telling, palm reading, star gazing,
in the hopes of gaining an edge, I can not breathe”
The air replenishes a throbbing head, vibrations,
Elation, smiles, taste the air, inhale the water,
The stale bread leaves a bitter sound, the crunch of the maggot,
A bunch of mealworms left to ravage, the population in terms,
Of who once had it, and left it to burn, the badlands, never return,
To full dimensions, not ever knowing of what was mentioned
He screams:
“Let me leave this miserable place,
this mythical creature, stature so great, influence,
and by the design of the gate, the lock fits the key,
the hole in the heart is replaced. Let me leave here at once,
and I shall do no harm, with my departure, I can feel alive,
I can do no wrong, I can not begin to explain, how I have lead you on”

This was spectacular !!! I mean really...I don't say that too often, but it's fitting here. This is an epic tale that leaves me in awe...I hope you pursue publishing your work one day. Excellent stuff yet again.

Most of the rhymes seem forced and awkward. This is also WAY too long, couldn't hold my interest past the first couple stanzas. I read it all anyway through though, because I wouldn't comment on a poem I haven't entirely read.
Lacking focus and purpose, full of dry metaphor and lackluster imagery, this is an epic mess of a poem.
