war

They dance no more,
Not like before,
The warriors have all gone.
Nearly all slain,
No longer pain,
We owe them all we have.
A sea of red,
The most dead,
No one ever wins at war.
All we do,
You, me too,
Is bow our heads and cry.
Yet we know,
Off we go,
To fight the next pointless war.
If I also dance no more,
On life’s dance floor,
Lay a wreath for me.

this is beautiful. i'm sorry you experienced this loss. this is so true and sad. i wish that wars never happened. not only do the soldiers die - but their family and friends die inside as well. |
